Yearbooks--YES will have a yearbook sales blitz all during the month of February. Students will bring home flyers with ordering information in late January. Parents may order yearbooks online until March 10th by visiting the following website: ybpay.lifetouch.com. The YES online ordering code is: 3085914. The cost of the yearbook is betwen $15 and $24 depending upon the options chosen. Parents will still have the option of ordering yearbooks with the order form that will be sent home in January.
Elks Hoop Shoot - All Y.E.S. students participated in the Elks Hoop Shoot with Mrs. Lisa Ashley during Wellness/PE the week of November 18th-22nd. The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national free throw competition conducted in five tiers: the School, Lodge, District, State, and the Regional contest. Each student was given a chance to shoot five free throws during class. The students (boy and girl) in each age group with the best score advanced to the Delaware County Lodge Competition held at Yorktown Elementary School on Saturday, December 7 at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Ashley held a shoot off “tie breaker” this week to determine the winners. Congratulations to the following students for advancing:
8-9 year old: Taryn Sallee, Mason Thompson, Raya Tewari, Ty Byerly, and Skyler Johnson
10-11 year old: Lea Alexander and Gavin Tisdale
12-13 year old: Destiny Coston and Spencer Marsh
YES is participating in the Box Tops program. A monthly contest is held for the most Box Tops collected. The winning classroom receives an ice cream treat party. The next collection date is December 20th.

On two hour delay days, child care is offered at Yorktown Elementary for students in kindergarten through fifth grades. Parents may drop off any K-5 student at YES's main door starting at 7:30 AM. No prior sign-up or spot reservation is necessary. Qualified school personnel will oversee supervision. The cost is $4.00 in cash upon arrival for each student using the child care. Breakfast will not be served; however, students are encouraged to bring their own breakfast with them. In case of unforeseen school closures on days that are initially delayed, parents must pick up students by 10:00 AM or a fee of $50 will be assessed to cover the cost of staffing. Bus transportation for K-2 students will be provided to transport students to PVE at the conclusion of the delay.

Parents--please note that attendance letters are mandated by the State of Indiana. Attendance letters are sent weekly.
Y.E.S. School hours: Students may enter the building at 7:30; school begins at 7:50. Dismissal is at 2:20.
